The EnterworksDiff Process
One of the ways to import enterprise data into EnterWorks is by the inbound syndication of full replacement files. A full replacement file contains every record that is to exist in the Target Repository after the file is loaded. It overwrites the existing contents of the repository completely, with no regard as to the existing records. If there are no changes to the source system’s repositories between two consecutive syndications, the second syndication file will have the exact same data as the first.
EnterWorks Import Templates can be configured to perform a full replacement operation, which is faster than simply importing the complete file. However, there are instances in which the time required to perform the replacement operation does not meet performance requirements.
The EnterworksDiff process generates a delta file from two consecutive files. It is optimized, so using it results in a significant reduction of the processing time required to load a full replacement file into EnterWorks.
The EnterworksDiff process is performed outside of EnterWorks’s import processing, which is invoked after the delta file is generated.
