Import or Upload Digital Asset Files
When one or more digital assets are imported into EnterWorks, the files are uploaded, variants are created (if applicable), new metadata records are created in DamMaster for new digital assets, and metadata records for existing digital assets are updated.
The user can upload digital assets several different ways:
-
The Upload Digital Assets widget.
-
While editing a record, the user can upload digital assets and link them to the record by editing the record’s linked relationships. For details, see Manage Link Relationships.
-
EnterWorks’s Bulk Import functionality automatically uploads digital assets. If EnterWorks has been configured to allow Bulk Import, EnterWorks will periodically upload all the files in a designated folder (often labeled DamDrop), store them, generate variants, and create their metadata records. Configuration of the Bulk Import functionality is typically performed by system administrators.
EnterWorks can create variants from the following image file formats. Depending on how DAM is configured, the variants will be stored in JPG or PNG format. Other image file types might also be supported for variant creation.
