Global Geocoding Module

  • In Management Console, when choosing EGM Global datasets to add as a resource, avoid clicking the checkbox at the top of the list of available datasets unless you know you have enough memory to consume the data.

If the added datasets contain more than 250 options, Spectrum does not expose REST and SOAP services. You can still batch geocode with Enterprise Designer.

  • United Kingdom (GB2) and the Malaysia POI (MY1) datasets are not currently supported in the Global Geocoding Module. Other UK datasets are supported.
  • (EGMI-1702) After upgrading from 10.0 SP1 with S07 patch to 11.0, when you navigate to a data flow in Enterprise Designer, it looks like there are multiple ports from the Global Geocode stage and Global Reverse Geocode stage. This results in an error when running the flow. Delete the channels and rebuild it for it to work as expected.
  • (EGMI-1695) A timeout exception may be thrown on AIX7 and AIX6 systems when adding a database resource. This may be due to inadequate memory resources. To resolve this issue, you may need to increase the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) heap size (Xms) specified in the java.vmargs file. This file is located in the SpectrumDirectory\server\modules\GlobalGeocode folder, where SpectrumDirectory is your Spectrum installation directory. See also Java heap size recommendation.
