Global Addressing Module

Global address parser stage

The Global Addressing Module now also supports parsing postal address strings into individual address elements, such as organization name, street, city, and postal code. The parser uses machine learning techniques and does not require a reference address database.

Use the new Global Address Parser stage to parse your address strings. The Global Address Parser stage supports these countries for this release:
  • Germany (DEU)
  • United Kingdom (GBR)
For more information, see the Global Address Parser section in the Spectrum™ Technology Platform Addressing Guide.

Global address validation stage

Support for New Countries

Global Address Validation has added enhanced address standardization and validation for the following countries.
  • Argentina
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Czech Republic
  • India
  • Japan
  • Malaysia
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • Sweden

Support for EIR Codes

Global Address Validation has added support for EIR codes for Ireland. The EIR code is a seven character alpha-numeric code made up of two parts.
Routing key
The first three characters define a principal post town span of delivery.
Unique identifier
The last four characters uniquely identify each residential and business address.
For more information about the EIR codes, see the Global Address Validation Output section in the Spectrum™ Technology Platform Addressing Guide.

New reports

Global Address Validation includes new reports.
Match Analysis by Country report
The Global Address Validation Match Analysis by Country report provides detail address matching statistics for each country processed in your job. This report also includes a graphical representation of the percentage of records for each country that matched at different confidence levels.
Address Matching Summary report
The Address Matching Summary report provides summary matching statistics for each individual country processed and totals for all countries combined.
For more information about the Global Address Validation reports, see the Global Addressing Module in the Spectrum™ Technology Platform Addressing Guide.

Retrieving country codes

Improve coding performance when your input addresses do not contain country information by setting up an additional instance of the Global Address Validation stage as the preliminary (first) stage in your dataflow to process and retrieve the country code for the input addresses. Select the new "World" value for the default country to use the available input address elements with additional data sources (available when you select "World" as the default country) to determine the country code. You can then send the addresses through a second Global Address Validation stage in the dataflow with the proper country code (retrieved in the preliminary stage) to validate the address to the street/house/premise level.

For more information about retrieving country codes using "World" as the default country code along with a multi-Global Address Validation stage dataflow, see the Global Address Validation Options section in the Spectrum™ Technology Platform Addressing Guide.
