Scheduling Analysis

To schedule a profile analysis, use the Add Schedule page. This page gives you various combinations of pattern, time, and date range to schedule the profiling in the way that suits your need. You can also have it as a one-time activity.

To schedule analysis of a profile perform these steps:

  1. On the Profiling page, click the Schedules tab, and click the Add Schedules icon .
The Add Schedule page is displayed.
  2. In the Name field enter a name for the schedule.
  3. From the Profile drop down list, select the profile that you want to schedule for analysis.
Note: It displays all the defined profiles.
  4. In the Schedule section, choose one of the triggers (in the Trigger drop down list), as needed.
    • Date/Time: To schedule a one-time analysis of the profile. For this analysis, select the Start date(in dd/mm/yy format) and Start time (in the hh/mm and AM/PM format) from the respective calendars.
    • Recurring Date/Time: To schedule a recurring analysis of the profile. The recurrence can be set as a Pattern (of days or week or month), Time (for example, every three hours), Range (at a specified time between a range of dates), or a combination of all the three. For more information, see Scheduling Recurring Analysis.
  5. To activate this schedule, ensure the Schedule slider is maintained at On.
  6. Click the Save button.
The profiling schedule is saved and gets displayed on the Schedules tab of the Profiling page. This page lists all the profiles that are scheduled for analysis and displays these details for each of those:
  • Profile: Name of the profile
  • Schedule Name: Name of the schedule
  • User: The user who created the schedule
  • Trigger: It specifies SCHEDULE to indicate that the profile is scheduled for analysis
  • Next Run: Specifies the date (in yyyy/mm/dd format), time (in hh/mm/ss format), and period (AM/PM) when the schedule will be run again.
  • Last Run: Specifies the date (in yyyy/mm/dd format), time (in hh/mm/ss format), and period (AM/PM) when the schedule was last run.
Note: When analysis of a profile begins, the in-progress profile also gets displayed on the Profiles tab of the Profiling page in case of recurring scheduling. If the scheduling is non-recurring, the in-progress profile gets moved from the Scheduling tab to the Profiles tab the moment the processing begins.
