Upgrading a 10.0 separated configuration database

Due to a known issue in the 10.0 release, you must follow these steps before upgrading a separated configuration database from 10.0.

Note: To upgrade from 10.0 to 12.0 releases, you must upgrade to 10.0 SP1 first, then upgrade from 10.0 SP1 to 12.0. Upgrading directly from 10.0 to 12.0 is not a supported upgrade path. For more information, see Upgrade paths. Perform the following procedure before upgrading from 10.0 to 10.0 SP1, if you have a separated configuration database.
  1. On the server where you have installed the configuration database, open this file in an editor: prodrepo.xml. You can find this file in the folder where you have installed the configuration database.
  2. Find this line: 
    <installerversion>99.99.00.F01.01</installerversion>

    Change the value to:

    <installerversion>10.00.00.F01.01</installerversion>
  3. Save and close the file then proceed with the upgrade procedure as documented in the Installation Guide.
