Creating Named Layer
Spectrum Spatial™ Manager allows you to create a named layer.
To create a named layer in Spectrum Spatial™ Manager:
- Click Layer in the Create drop-down located on the toolbar. The Create Named Layer page appears.
- Click in the Reference Table. A pop up appears from where you can browse a named table or a view table that the named layer will reference. Click Select to continue.
- Select a Display Style for the layer. You can select one of the following styles:
- No Style: It uses the same style for the layer as that of the data source.
- Use Named Style: It sets the style of the layer as that of the named style.
- Define Style Override: It defines the style to be used for the feature layer. For more details on these styles, see Define Style Override.
- Define Thematic Style: It defines the thematic style to be used for the feature layer when a vector table is used. For more details on thematic styles, seeDefine Thematic Style.
- Select the Visibility Constraints. The visibility
constraints determines whether a layer is visible or not. A layer is
conditionally visible depending on the map's zoom level or scale, known as
VisibleRange. You can select one of the following visibility options:
- Always Visible: It makes the layer always visible.
- Apply Zoom Layering: It controls the display of a map layer so that it displays only when the map's zoom level falls within a preset distance.
- Apply Scale Layering: It controls the display of a map layer so that it displays only when the map's scale falls in a defined range.
- Enter a name for the layer in the New Layer Name under the Repository Info. By default, the name is set as the name of the chosen data source. You can use the default name or change it. If the same name already exists, Spectrum Spatial™ Manager displays a message. Names are case sensitive and cannot contain the following characters: / \ : [ ] | * { } "
- Click in the Repository Folder. A pop up appears from where you can browse a location to store the layer. The default location is the same as the one you selected while creating the Named Layer. You can use the same path or set a different location.
- Click Create. The details page for the new layer appears.
