Resource Permissions

The Resource Permissions page allows you to view and manage permissions on named resources.

Do the following to view Resource Permissions:
  1. Open Spectrum Spatialâ„¢ Manager.
  2. Click Permissions in the menu bar. A sub menu opens.
  3. Click Resource Permissions.

Overview

The resource permissions page has two panes to organize the content. The left pane lists Roles and Users while the right pane displays Named Resources for the selected role or user. The list in the left pane only displays users and roles who have permissions on at least one named resource.

Roles and Users

The left pane contains roles and users who have permission on at least one named resource. When you select a user or role, its corresponding permissions are listed in the right pane under the specific type of named resources.

The Resource Permissions page also enables you to add new roles and users. Click the Add Users or Roles link towards the top of the left pane and a user picker pop up appears. For more details see Adding Users and Roles.

Permissions

The right pane of the page displays the list of named resources for the selected user or role from the left pane. The right pane is divided into tabs where each tab displays permissions for a specific type of named resource. The following section describes the five tabs for named resources.

Projects:The tab lists the projects on which the selected user or role currently has permissions. The tab has two columns:
  • Projects: The relative path of the project.
  • Read: The selected check box signifies that the user has read permission on the project.

To add a new project, click Add Project. A resource picker appears from where you can browse and select one or more projects.

Tiles: The tab lists the tiles on which the selected user or role currently has permissions. The tab has two columns:
  • Tiles: The relative path of the tile.
  • Read: The selected check box signifies that the user has read permission on the tile.

To add a new tile, click Add Tile. A resource picker appears from where you can browse and select one or more tiles.

Maps: The tab lists the maps on which the selected user or role currently has permissions. The tab has two columns:
  • Maps: The relative path of the map.
  • Read: The selected check box signifies that the user has read permission on the map.

To add a new map, click Add Map. A resource picker appears from where you can browse and select one or more maps.

Layers: The tab lists the layers on which the selected user or role currently has permissions. The tab has two columns:
  • Layers: The relative path of the layer.
  • Read: The selected check box signifies that the user has read permission on the layer.

To add a new layer, click Add Layers. A resource picker appears from where you can browse and select one or more layers.

Tables: The tab lists the tables on which the selected user or role currently has permissions. The tab has six columns:
  • Tables: The relative path of the table.
  • Read: The selected check box signifies that the user has read permission on the table.
  • Insert: The selected check box signifies that the user has the permission to insert data into the table.
  • Update: The selected check box signifies that the user has the permission to update the data in the table.
  • Delete: The selected check box signifies that the user has the permission to delete the data in the table.
  • Clear: Clicking the clear icon clears all the permissions for the user on the selected table.
    Note: Permissions are only cleared when Clear is clicked. You must click Apply Changes to consolidate the changes.

To add a new table, click Add Table. A resource picker appears from where you can browse and select one or more tables.

Apply Changes

You can add or remove permissions using check boxes. Click Apply Changes to consolidate the changes. The button remains disabled until no changes are made.
Note: If all the permissions are revoked from a resource, the same will not appear on the page when the admin revisits the same page.
