Creating a New Print Template
To create a new print template:

Click on the Create New button.
The New Print template page appears.
- Enter the name of the print template in Name text box.
- Enter the repository path in the Repository folder text box to save the new print template. The repository name starts with root /.
- You can also click on the button. The Select a Folder dialog box opens.

Click on the New Folder button to create a new folder or you can
select an existing folder from the list.
You can view the folders in Tree view or List view. The Search option is availabe in the List View.
- Select a folder and click Select.

On the left side, is a Properties pane which displays the
settings for the various elements that can be added to a print template.
Table 1. Properties Pane Option Description Map Diplays the properties of the map. You can expand or collapse the map properties by clicking on the map pane.
General Allows you to define general attribute of map. X,Y value, width, height for the map. It also allows you to add border to the map and change border size and color. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value
- Width
- Height
- Border Style
- Border Color
- Border thinkness
- Find Nearest results
- Map information results
Title Adds a textual title which the end user can specify while printing. When a user has performed an address search this defaults to the address they have selected. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value
- Width
- Height
- Font Family- Choose from Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and MS
Gothic fonts.Note: If you are designing your template in Japanese locale, then only MS Gothic font is supported.
- Font size
- Font color
- Font Style- Choose from Regular, Bold, Italics and Bold Italics
- Alignment- Align text to left, center and right in the text box.
Legend Adds a map legend. The map legend has fixed width and its height will vary depending on which layers are shown when the user prints with the template. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value
- Width
- Height
- Font Family- Choose from Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and MS
Gothic fonts.Note: If you are designing your template in Japanese locale, then only MS Gothic font is supported.
Scale Bar Adds a horizontal scale bar. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value
- Width
- Height
- Font Family- Choose from Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and MS

- Font size
- Font color
- Font Style- Choose from Regular, Bold, Italics and Bold Italics
Scale Value Adds text to display the scale in the form of 1:10000 etc. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value

- Font Family- Choose from Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and MS

- Font size
- Font color

North Arrow Adds an image of a north arrow. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value

- Arrow Style
Date Adds text to display the date when the print template is printed. Following attributes are available:- X and Y value

- Height
- Font Family- Choose from Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and MS

- Font size
- Font color
- Font Style- Choose from Regular, Bold, Italics and Bold Italics
- Font Alignment- Align text to left, center and right in the text box.
- Date Format - Select the date format from the dropdown list.
Static Elements Lists static elements that are added to the template by using the tools at the top of the template preview pane. Click to delete static elements displayed on template preview pane. Click to show or hide elements on the canvas. -
On the right side, is the canvas which shows a preview of the print template. A range
of other static elements can be added to the template using the tools at the top of the
canvas. The tools are listed in table below:
Table 2. Toolbar and Canvas Option Description The Map Element All templates must contain one map element. The map element is always present and cannot be deleted. The map element can be resized and positioned using the design view or by entering values for the top left XY and Width and Height in the settings pane. The map element has a number of sub-elements that can be enabled and disabled. These are grouped under the Map Element as they are related to the map and all of them (apart from the North Arrow) are generated dynamically when the print is made by the end user. Each sub element can be selected and re-positioned independently of the map frame itself. If you do not wish to include a specific sub element then its visibility can be enabled or disabled in the settings panes.
Adds vertical line element. Adds horizontal line element. Adds rectangle element. Adds a static text element. Adds an image. It will prompt you to upload an image graphic. The supported image format is .gif, .png, .jpeg or .jpg.
Click to Zoom out Click to Zoom in Drags an element to a new location. Selects an element for re-positioning. Page Size Select the page size from Page Size drop-down list. Note: A default 1cm margin is always added to the canvas size. As such the canvas represents the extent of the available space excluding the margin and elements such as the map scan be drawn to the edges of the canvas if they are required to be full width or height.Page Orientation Select the page orientation as Portrait or Landscape. Grid You can switch the grid on or off. Save Click to save the current changes in the print template. Reset Click to reset print template. Once you have created your Print Template, you can Save it .Note: Save your work before closing the Print Designer Template dialog box.
