WMS Layers
Select Spectrum Spatial™ Manager to view, create, edit, move, organize, and delete the layers for the Web Map Service and its capabilities.
inThe WMS layer tree defines the layers that are exposed through the WMS and also defines the structure of how these layers are organized. Only the layers defined in the WMS layer tree are returned in a GetCapabilities response, and can be returned in a GetMap or GetFeatureInfo request. There can be only one WMS layer tree at the root. That root layer can have any number of children, as can any of those children.
A WMS layer must have at least one reference layer. Reference layers can be either named layers or named tables. In the case of a named table you can choose to use a default named style when rendering the table, which will be overridden by any WMS style that is applied.
For more information, see Web Map Service (WMS) in the Services section of the Spectrum Spatial Guide.
