Creating Manual Consolidation Rule

A manual consolidation rule is a Best of Breed rule which consolidates duplicate records by selecting the best data in a duplicate record collection and creating a new consolidated record using the best data. This consolidated record is known as the best of breed record. You define the rules that select records to consolidate. When processing completes, the best of breed record is retained by the system.

To create a manual consolidation rule, perform these steps:
  1. On the Source Details page, click the Create consolidation rule button.
The Create Consolidation Rule page is displayed.
  2. On the Create Consolidation Rule page, go to the Manual Consolidation Process section and click the Create Rule button.
The Manual Consolidation Rule page is displayed. On this page, you can:
    • Create and publish a rule: Define your rule, and publish it to the repository. You can also use the Create new rule button at the left corner of the page to remove the current rule and define a new rule.

    • Configure the options for the rule in the Template Record Settings and Best of Breed Settings panel. For more information, see Defining Template Record Settings and Defining Best of Breed Settings.
  3. Enter a unique name for your rule in the Rule name field.
You must now proceed to configure the options.
