Creating a New Functionality Profile

To create a new functionality profile:

  1. Click the Create New button.
    The New Functionality Profile page appears.
  2. Enter the name of the new functionality profile in the Name textbox, then click the Create button.
    Note: The functionality profile name:
    • must contain only characters from the Latin alphabet
    • must not contain any spaces or special characters
    • is case sensitive
  3. Enter the repository path in the Repository folder text box to save the new functionality profile. The repository name must start with root /.
  4. You can also click on the button. The Select a Folder dialog box opens.
  5. Click on the New Folder button to create a new folder, or you can select an existing folder from the list.
    You can view the folders in the Tree view or List view. The Search option is available in the List View.
  6. Select a folder and click Select.
  7. Select the options available under the User Capabilities section.
    OptionDescription
    Sign in Enable or disable Sign in option for a specific map project.
    Note: Users can still log in to the secured Map Project if they directly hit the URL as they will be redirected to the Login Page.
    Switching between map project Enable or disable the Map Project Switcher in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Editing table

    Enable or disable editing preferences for tables present in map projects. It has the following options:

    Geometry and Attribute

    When selected, a user can edit the attribute data and the geometry and they can also insert or delete records. Whether they are able to perform these is determined by the CREATE, MODIFY and DELETE permissions assigned on each table.

    When de-selected, a user cannot edit any data regardless of whether the logged-in user has Spectrum permissions to edit some of the tables in that map project. It is a default option.

    Attributes only When selected, a user can only edit attribute data. The user cannot edit the geometry and cannot insert or delete records. They need MODIFY permission on the table to perform attribute edits.
  8. Select the options available under the Layers section.

    Add Spectrum spatial layers Enable or disable the user to add Spectrum spatial layers in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Add Local files (CSV, XLS, GEOJSON, KML) Enable or disable the user to add local files (like- csv, xls, geojson, kml) in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
  9. Select the options available under the Annotations section.

    Annotation tools Enable or disable the Annotation tools options in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Annotation KML import/export Select to enable or disable for a user the ability to import and export KML files through Annotation Manager on Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Summarize data in annotations Select to enable or disable the Summarize Data in Annotation feature for Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Measuring tools Enable or disable Measuring tools options in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Drive time / Drive distance polygon (Travel boundary) Select to enable or disable drive time polygon annotation in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Travel boundary configuration Select the available routing configurations from the drop-down list to display in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
  10. Select the options available under the Print Settings section to set print preferences, enable printing only if a layer is enabled in the legend, and publish or un-publish a print template in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    OptionDescription
    Printing Enable or disable printing.
    Scaled Printing Select to enable scaled printing.
    Enable Printing only when a layer is on Select to enable printing only when overlays are turned on by the end-user (for cases where you do not wish users to print maps with only the base map showing).
    Print Templates Select the template(s) that you want to display in Spectrum Spatial Analyst for printing map. It lists all the templates that you have designed in Print Template Designer.
  11. Select the options available under the Application Behavior section to set the initial behavior of Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    OptionDescription
    Map legend initially collapsed Select to show map legend in collapsed form when the map project initially loads on Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    Display Zoom labels Display the zoom labels on the map. The text labels that appear on the zoom slider to indicate which zoom level the user is viewing (for example, street view versus city view).
    Feature information limit Enter the maximum number of feature information results to display on Spectrum Spatial Analyst. The range is from 50 to 1000 results.
    Copyright Enter the copyright notice for the map. This copyright notice displays in Spectrum Spatial Analyst only if the corresponding map is visible.
  12. Select the options available under the Search Behavior section to set the initial behavior of the search in Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
    OptionDescription
    Address Search Dataset
    Displays the location dataset or geocoder used for the location search. You must select one from the drop-down list.
    Note: The Bing International Geocoder cannot be enabled if Google maps are present.
    Search in this country or city The administrator (admin) can configure the country or city for which the search results can be prioritized while using International Geocoder as the Locator Search Dataset. The text added for the City and Country appends to any search text keyed in by the user.
    Search results limit Enter the maximum number of address search results to display on Spectrum Spatial Analyst. The range is from 50 to 1000 search results.
    Wildcard search

    Select to enable or disable the wild card search. This option is available only for the Locate service.

    Note: This option is disabled for other services like Bing.
    Quick search Enable to display Admin specified queries on the left-hand panel of Spectrum Spatial Analyst.
  13. Select the options available under the Watermark section to specify the source file, size and transparency of a watermark image for the map.

    Use Existing Watermark

    Select to choose an existing watermark image.

    To make images available to Spectrum Spatial Manager, copy them in to the Spectrum Spatial Analyst customer configurations watermark folder. This folder is normally located here, \SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\customerconfigurations\analyst\theme\images\watermark.

    The supported image format is .gif, .png, .jpeg or .jpg. You can use watermark images up to 1024 * 1024 px in size.

    Change - Click the change link option and choose from the available watermark images in the Watermark dialog box. Click a watermark image and then click the Select button. The watermark file name displays next to the change link on the top right corner of the Manage Watermark Images dialog box.

    Upload - Click the upload watermark image link to upload a new watermark image.

    Apply - Click to apply a new watermark. The applied watermark file name is displayed on the top right corner of the Manage Watermark Images dialog box.

    To delete watermark, hover over a watermark image and select to delete it.

    Note: You cannot delete the watermark image that is currently in use.
    Use URL Enter a URL specifying the location of the image to use as a watermark. This must be a JPEG, GIF or PNG image. For example, http://myserver/connect/resources/images/watermark.gif
    Opacity Move the slider to choose the transparency for the watermark image. A value of 100% means the watermark image is completely transparent. A red dot is displayed beside the slider to indicate the effect of the transparency value.
    Height\Width (px) Enter the width and height of the displayed image, in pixels. These values can be larger than, equal to, or smaller than the actual image dimensions and the image will be scaled appropriately. These values must be integers. For example, enter 512 in the Width field and 256 in the Height field.
    Preview Click on the Preview button to display the watermark image with transparency applied.
  14. Click Save to save the new functionality profile. It is listed on the left-hand side of the screen under the Functionality Profiles.
  15. Click Cancel to move back to previous page without creating functionality profile.
