Creating a Backup Manually

To manually back up the Spectrum Technology Platform configuration database, use the Administration Utility's server backup command. For more information, see server backup.

For a separated database configuration, where the configuration database is located on a separate server, you must set the configuration database backup properties before running the server backup. For more information, see Configuration database backup properties.

To manually back up the index database, make sure the server is started and invoke the takeSnapshot operation using the Index Snapshot/Backup Manager in the JMX Console:

In addition, some modules have data that is not included in the Administration Utility backup process. You must back up this data for these modules separately:

• Advanced Matching, Data Normalization, and Universal Name
• Context Graph
• Geocoding
• Global Sentry
• Machine Learning
• Spatial and Routing
