Use the Coordinate System section to specify the coordinate system for the map, and the distance units for find my nearest results.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Projection | The coordinate/projection system for the map. This must match the data you are using and will therefore be set by the base maps you use. For example, this will automatically set to EPSG:27700 if you are using British National Grid base map data. Alternatively, if you are using global data, this will be set to EPSG:3857, which is Spherical Mercator projection. |
Display Units | The distance unit used to display the results in the find my nearest results panel. You can select any values from the available drop-down list. For example, select metres/kilometres. |
Use the Watermark section to specify the source file, size and transparency of a watermark image for the map.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Use Existing Watermark | Allows you to use existing watermark image or upload a new watermark image.
Change - Click on Change link option to select/delete or upload a new Watermark image. Note: You cannot delete currently used watermark image.
|
Use URL to a Watermark | A URL specifying the location of the image to use as a watermark. This must be a JPEG, GIF or PNG image. For example, enter http://myserver/connect/resources/images/watermark.gif. |
Change Transparency | Move the slider to choose how transparent the watermark image should be. A value of 100% means the watermark image will be completely transparent. A red dot is displayed beside the slider to indicate the effect of the transparency value. |
Change Width/Height (px) | The width and height of the displayed image, in pixels. These values can be larger than, equal to, or smaller than the actual image dimensions and the image will be scaled appropriately. These values must be integers. For example, enter 512 in the Width field and 256 in the Height field.
View - Click on the View link to display the watermark image with transparency applied. |
Use the Copyright section to specify the copyright notice for the map.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Copyright Text | The copyright notice for the map. |
Use the Zoom Levels section to specify settings related to zoom levels.
The Pan-able Extents are the extents within which a user is allowed to pan. For example if using Bing Maps, you can set pan-able extents to restrict users to panning within the New York area only and use the minimum zoom level to stop them zooming out to the whole world. The pan-able extents must be less than full extents that are set when you load a base map and specified in the same units (usually metres)
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Maximum Zoom Level | Maximum Zoom for a map configuration can be set to a highest value of 20. This is the most zoomed-in level for a map configuration. |
Minimum Zoom Level | Minimum Zoom Level for a map configuration can be set to a lowest value of 2. This is the most zoomed-out level for a map configuration. Level 1 is not available as it would always show a very small map tile with white space around it. |
Initial Zoom Level | The zoom level at which the map is displayed on start-up. This must be a number within the range of available zoom levels. The higher the number, the more zoomed-in the map will appear. |
Search Zoom Level | The zoom level that the map will zoom to when the MapInfo Stratus web site visitor searches for an address/location. If the user searches for an address/location, they often want to view the surrounding area at a zoomed-in level, such as street level, which is a high zoom level number. |
Pan-able Extents West | The western extent of the map up to which a user can pan. |
Pan-able Extents South | The southern extent of the map up to which a user can pan. |
Pan-able Extents East | The eastern extent of the map up to which a user can pan. |
Pan-able Extents North | The northern extent of the map up to which a user can pan. |
Zoom Level Descriptions | The text labels that appear on the zoom slider to indicate which zoom level the user is viewing (for example, street view versus city view). |
