Uploading Data Overview

Spectrum Spatial Analyst allows admins and sub-admins to upload supported data files from their computers and save them to Spectrum Spatial repository. Once the data is uploaded, you can add the data as a layer to your map. The users who do not have one of the admin roles can not upload files.

Spectrum Spatial Analyst provides the following two ways to upload your data.

  1. Upload files to Spectrum Spatial (TAB, shp, csv, xls) - In this case, the table is first uploaded to the Spectrum Spatial repository, and then you have an option to add it as a layer in the Spectrum Spatial repository and to your map. After the layer is added to the repository, the layer will be available for adding to any map project. The same layer can be added to multiple projects.
  2. Add Files to map temporarily (csv, xls, GeoJson, kml) - In this case, the layer is first added to your map as a temporary vector layer. You can then choose upload table to Spectrum Spatial repository from the layers menu. After the layer is added to the repository, the layer will be available for adding to any map project.
