User Dashboard

When a user logs into EnterWorks using the EnterWorks 2020 UI they are taken to the User Dashboard (also referred to simply as Dashboard) of one of the user groups they belong to. If a user has more than one Dashboard, they can switch to the Dashboard of their choice.

If the use of personal User Dashboards is enabled, the user will be taken to their personal User Dashboard. Personal User Dashboards can be customized by adding or deleting widgets, then saving the Dashboard layout.

The EnterWorks 2020 User Interface is streamlined to allow the user to quickly and easily find what they need.

The screen has the following main areas:

  • Features Sidebar
  • Tab Bar
  • Activity Bar
  • Main View Area

More details about the various EnterWorks displays and their functions are described in subsequent sections of this document.

Tab Bar

The Tab Bar is the top bar on the on the EnterWorks 2020 UI. The features on it change according to the tab being viewed.

User Dashboard Tab Bar

The Tab Bar contains:

· Features Sidebar icon : Opens the Features Sidebar.

  • Text Search box: Locates the indicated text in active repositories, records, and Widgets. Search is described more thoroughly in the Search section of this document.
  • Dashboard tab: Click the Dashboard tab to return to the User Dashboard.
  • Navigation Tabs : The tabs that appear here allow the user to switch between functional views. The active tab is highlighted.
  • Impersonate icon: Users with sufficient permissions can impersonate a different user role.
  • Profile icon : Allows the user to view their Profile Name or to log out.

Activity Bar

The User Dashboard’s Activity Bar lists functions that can be performed on the contents of the opened tab. These activities are described in detail in the sections relating to their functional use. The Activity Bar contains different objects according to the contents of the tab.

The User Dashboard’s Activity Bar contains:

  • Dashboard Selector : Appears on the Dashboard. It contains links to the user’s personal dashboards – one for each user group they belong to.
  • Action buttons: Actions that can be performed on the contents of the tab. Actions the user is currently able to perform are highlighted. Actions the user cannot currently perform are grayed out.
  • More Actions icon : A dropdown list of more actions the user may perform contents of the tab.
  • Function switches: Depending on the contents of the tab, the user may have functions they can turn on/off, such as the Detail Editor Sidebar or Cover View.

Features Sidebar

The Features Sidebar displays links to stored content, reports, and available actions. The list of features displayed depend on user permissions and system configuration.

The Feature Sidebar is comprised of the following tabs:

  • Repository : Lists the repositories the user is permitted to view, edit, or use.
  • Administration : Allows permitted users to view and manage users, groups, channel readiness, Code Sets, folders and workflow.
  • System : Allows permitted users to monitor and manage jobs, and to clear the cache.
  • Reports : Allows user to view available reports.
  • About Us : Displays the version number of the EnterWorks system in use.

To verify the version of EnterWorks installed, open the Features Sidebar and click the About US tab or click Enable.

NOTE: When you are submitting a support ticket, it is helpful to note the version of EnterWorks you are utilizing. Patches may come frequently and any issue that is identified may have been addressed in a recently released version.

Select a Dashboard

To switch to a different Dashboard, open theDashboard Selector dropdown list in the far left of the Activity Bar. A list of Dashboards available to you will be displayed. Select the desired Dashboard.

Note: The user retains all the permissions granted to them, from all their user groups, no matter which Dashboard they are viewing. For instance, if the user belongs to the Project Management user group and the Sales user group, they will always have all the permissions granted to the Project Management user group and the Sales user group, no matter which Dashboard they are viewing.
