Alternate language support
- Japan (JPN) : You can now input the address in a Japanese and get the result in latinized Japanese, or vice versa.
- China (CHN): You can now input the address in a Chinese and get the result in latinized Chinese, or vice versa.
- Kazakhstan (KAZ): You can now input the address in a latinized language and get the result in English, Russian, or vice versa.
- Azerbaijan (AZE): You can now input the address in a latinized language and get the result in English, Russian, or vice versa.
- Thailand (THA): You can now input the address in Thai and get the result in latinized Thai, or vice versa. Also, it is only supports Street Geocoding.
To enable this feature, set the custom preference
RETURN_ALT_LANG_FIELDS
to "true
" in the
Operational Addressing SDK or Spectrum Global Geocoding.
All Geocoders: New custom preference option
In this quarter, we have introduced a new custom preference option
"RETURN_INPUT_HOUSE_ON_S4_MATCH
" to not populate the House
Number in the street centroid matches. Example, for the input as "123 Main
Street", if the data contains only "Main Street" with no house information, then
this option returns just "Main Street" without appending the house number.
To enable this feature, set the custom preference
RETURN_INPUT_HOUSE_ON_S4_MATCH
to "false" in the Operational
Addressing SDK or Spectrum Global Geocoding.
Postal and geographic candidates return additional fields
In previous quarters, we enhanced postal and geographic geocoding to include more region, city, and postcode hierarchical information. This quarter, the enhancement now applies to Brunei Darussalam (BRN), Cyprus (CYP), Kosovo (XKX), Lesotho (LSO), Malta (MLT), Mozambique (MOZ), Senegal (SEN), Eswatini (SWZ), Tanzania (TZA). The information below is repeated for convenience; no functionality has changed from previous quarters.
Postal candidates (2 additional fields):
- MULTIPLE_AREAS_FOR_POSTCODE, true if more than one town is contained within the postcode.
- PRIMARY_AREA_FOR_POSTCODE, true if the current town is the primary town for the postcode. The area name fields (city/town, state/region, etc.) will be populated when available.
Geographic candidates (1 additional field):
- POSTCODE_COUNT_IN_AREA, containing the number of postcodes found in the specified town. (As we noted previously, this would only apply to G3-level candidates, except in Brazil where it only applies to G4-level candidates.) The postcode field will be populated when available.
Brazil (BRA): Support for street centroid fallback
In this quarter, we have added a new custom geocoding preference,
FALLBACK_TO_STREET_CENTROID
which returns the street centroid
level match (S4) when set to true for input with no matching house number. The
default value for this preference is false.
This centroid is the section of the street containing the closest house number for the input. It can have a different point than when you do not provide a house number in the input.
The closest house for the given input is returned in the custom field on the candidate “CLOSEST_HOUSE_NUMBER”.
For example, the input of “Calle Major 123
” will now return the
"Calle Major
" with precision of S4 along with the
“CLOSEST_HOUSE_NUMBER
” candidate for “78
”, if
the closest house number in the data is "78
"
South Africa (ZAF): Geocoding improvements
The geocoder has improved matching logic. Also, provided better support for Afrikaans words in the input. Additionally, provides better intersection handling by including words such as "AND", "EN", and "CNR" as intersection indicators.
Ireland (IRL): Formatted street address update
The geocoder now returns the correct format for Ireland street address.
Great Britain (GBR): Dataset updates
Dataset | Updates |
---|---|
GB4 | The dataset is introduced in CB1, WLD, EU1 bundles. |
GB8 |
The Address Point dataset has multiple updates and they are:
Hence, returns the following result codes:
|
Kazakhstan (KAZ), Azerbaijan (AZE): Support for new country development
The geocoder for Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan now supports Street Geocoding. Also, it supports English and Russian languages.
The highest street precision level for both the countries is Street Interpolated.
India (IN): New dataset inclusion in geocoding and interactive geocoding
In this quarter, we have introduced new dataset IN2 which replaces IN1 in both geocoding and interactive geocoding.
