Assets

An asset can be modified by more than one project at a time. Changes to an asset can also take place outside the scope of a managed project within Designer. For example, the same asset can be branched in multiple projects at any given time within Designer When assets are assigned to a project, the project asset becomes a branched version of the original in Designer. For the life of the managed project, assets will be unaffected by any changes made to the original or by any other branches of the original. Note that this includes changes applied to the asset by other projects. The project asset is therefore isolated and only contains the modifications that apply to the project. When all asset have been approved, the changes are merged back onto the Master project in Designer taking into account any changes made by other projects. Any newly created asset will not appear on the Designer Master project until the merge has taken place.
Note: Changes to assets across different projects must be managed consistently in Designer to ensure expected updates are applied to your asset.
