Managing templates with EngageOne Video links
EngageOne Video is an optional addition to EngageOne Compose that allows for the creation of personalized, data driven video content to be included in your customer communication.
Template designers can use the Designer application to add placeholders/tokens to a communication template. At run-time, when a communication is created from the template, an EngageOne Video Personalized URL (PURL) can be generated and inserted into the communication before it is submitted for delivery. EngageOne Video generates PURLs based on data that is passed to it from the data available to the communication when it is created in EngageOne. This data is defined by the data model associated with the template in Designer. This means that EngageOne Video can use not only the data displayed in the document, but also any other data defined by the data model. A template designer can choose from the following design objects to incorporate the required placeholders/tokens in their template design:
- EngageOne Video (QR Code) barcodes
- Clickable images
- URL links
In Designer, a template designer can add any of these objects which, when delivered, can direct the recipient of a communication to an EngageOne personalized video. When one of these objects is added to a Designer publication, the object must be linked to a data field in the publication’s data model. The task for a Template Manager is to associate an EngageOne Video to the template’s use of that data field. Therefore, if the template designer places three objects in the publication and links all three with the same data field, the template manager will only have to configure one video association for the template. If the Designer user links each object with a different data field, then the EngageOne Compose user will have configure three video associations for the template.
Refer to the Designer User's Guide for detailed information on using EngageOne Video design objects.
