Profile Data Assets
Data Profiling allows you to analyze your datasets for data issues. Before you create a data profile, identify your data source and set up a data connection. You can also schedule data profiles to establish trends and identify data anomalies.
To perform end-to-end data profiling:
Set up Data Connection
Tip:
- Keep the connection details handy to set up a data connection.
- If you do not have the connection details, you can create a data connection from an existing connection. Refer to Create a Data Connection from an Existing Connection.
- Before you create a data profile, you need to set up a data connection. To create a data connection, refer to Create a Snowflake Data Connection. You can choose to set up a data connection from available types. Refer to Types of Data Connections
Create a Data Profile
Tip:
- You can use the connection that you created or use a connection from the list of existing data connections that are already set up.
- During profile creation, you can select profiling rules. For profiling rules details, refer to Profiling Rules.
- After setting up a data connection, you are ready to create a data profile. To create a data profile, refer to Create a Data Profile.
Run a Data Profile

You can choose to run the data profile in two ways.

- Save & Run
- Your profile will run immediately if you have selected Save & Run during profile creation. After a successful profile run, you can go to step 4 to analyze your profile.

- Save
- You can Save the profile during profile creation, and run it later. Refer to Run a Data Profile.

Analyze a Data Profile
- After your profile is run successfully, you can view profiling results and analyze your dataset. To view profiling results, refer to Profiling Results.
