Create a Data Profile

You can create multiple data profiles for a single data connection. You must set up a successful data connection before creating a data profile. To create a data connection, refer to Create a Snowflake Data Connection.

To create a data profile:

  1. On the Data Profiles page, click Create Profile.
    Create Profile page appears.
  2. Select the connection from the Select Connection drop-down.
  3. Click Fetch Tables.
  4. After the tables are loaded, select Tables and Columns.
    FieldDescription
    Table Shows the tables/views for the selected connection.
    Columns Shows the columns for selected table/views.
    Note: You can clear the selected columns that you don't want to profile.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the profiling Rules. For details about profiling rules, refer to Profiling Rules.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter the Name and Description of the profile.
  9. Optional: To finalize the profile, you can schedule the profile. For scheduling, refer to Schedule Data Profiling.
  10. Click Save to save the profile.
    The profile is saved, and you are redirected to the Data Profiles page. Refer to the Data Profiles page.
    Note: You can click Save & Run to save and quickly run profiling.
