Batch Processing
Spectrum OnDemand batch processing enables you to process many records at once
from a single input data file. This chapter describes the most frequently used
capabilities for Batch Processing through Spectrum OnDemand.
Note: For information on using other available options for batch processing, contact the
Customer Success team.
The following are the steps involved in batch processing:
- Set up the SFTP account. For information on setting the account, see Setting Up Batch Processing.
- Upload the input data file to Spectrum OnDemand. The input data files are transferred through SSH2-compliant SFTP to the Inbound directory of OnDemand SFTP server, along with a companion trigger file.
- Once you complete uploading the input data file, you must include the trigger file that begins the automated process.
- Once the processing completes, the output data file is moved to the SFTP Outbound directory, and an e-mail is sent to the provided contacts alerting that the processed file is ready for collection.
Since your needs are unique, Spectrum OnDemand batch processing is customized to support your requirements. It includes selecting an appropriate service for you to use, defining the input and output file layout, and establishing naming conventions for files and fields.
