Converting data types to strings

Sometimes your scripts must circumscribe data type rules. For example, if your organization uses one date type, but the SAP system supports another or if a decimal field type requires padding in SAP, the fields should be converted to strings. Important: In TRANSACTION, strings cannot be reconverted.

To convert a data type to string

  1. In the Mapper, select a row with a data type field. The field must also be labeled for upload to convert to string.
  2. In the Advanced Mapping pane, select Convert to String.
