Create a Data Profile from an Existing Profile

You can create a copy of an existing data profile, change profiling details, and save it.

To create a new data profile from an existing profile:

  1. On the Data Profiles page, click the context menu button corresponding to the profile that you want to create and click Duplicate.
  2. If you want to use a different connection, select the connection from the Select Connection drop-down.
    You can also use the same connection and select different tables or columns.
  3. Click Fetch Tables.
  4. After the tables are loaded, select Tables and Columns.

    Table Shows the tables/views for the selected connection.
    Columns Shows the columns for selected table/views.
    Note: You can clear the selected columns that you don't want to profile.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the profiling Rules. For details about profiling rules, refer to Profiling Rules.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Optional: Change the Name and Description of the profile.
  9. Optional: To finalize the profile, you can schedule the profile. For scheduling, refer to Schedule Data Profiling.
  10. Click Save to save the updated profile details.
    The profile is saved, and you are redirected to the Data Profiles page.
    Note: You can click Save & Run to save and quickly run profiling.
