Edit an Observer

To edit an existing observer:

  1. On the Observers page, click the context menu button corresponding to the observer that you want to edit and click Edit.
  2. If you want to use a different connection, select the connection from the Select Connection drop-down.
    You can also use the same connection and select different tables or columns.
  3. Click Fetch Tables.
  4. After the tables are loaded, select Tables and Columns.
    FieldDescription
    Table Shows the tables/views for the selected connection.
    Columns Shows the columns for selected table/views.
    Note:
    • You can clear the selected columns that you don't want to observe.
    • The assets already used in other Observers will not be available to select.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the observer Rules or configure the selected observer rule.
    For details about observer rules, refer to Observer Rules.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Change the Name and Description of the observer.
  9. Required: To finalize the observer, set the Scheduler.
    You can keep the scheduler unchanged or set a new schedule in the next step.
  10. Optional: Select the Occurrence of scheduling.

    Daily Specifies settings for the scheduler to run every day.
    At
    The time at which scheduling starts (hh:mm).
    Note: The scheduler uses a 12-hour time format and shows default system time during selection.
    Example:
    If the schedule is selected for daily At <hh:mm>, then profiling will run daily at <hh:mm>.
    Weekly Specifies settings for the scheduler to run every seven days.
    On
    The day(s) in the week that profiling will run.
    at
    The time at which scheduling starts (hh:mm).
    Note: The scheduler uses a 12-hour time format and shows default system time during selection.
    Example:
    If the schedule is selected On <selected days> and at <hh:mm>, then profiling will run on the <selected days at <hh:mm> for every week.
  11. Click Save to save the updated observer details.
    The observer is saved, and you are redirected to the Observers page.
