<HIPERMAX>

On mainframe systems, <HIPERMAX> specifies a maximum amount of Hiperspace to use before switching to disk (ESDS VSAM).

If you do not set the <HIPERMAX> tag, Enrichment uses all available Hiperspace before transferring to disk.

Hiperspace is only necessary if all of the input documents are buffered. This only occurs when the control file contains the Sortmatch or Presort tag groups or if <DOUBLESORT> (in the CASS group) is set to YES.

Note: The <HIPERMAX> tag is invalid if you are using Enrichment on UNIX, Linux, or Windows.

Syntax

<HIPERMAX> size

Parameter Description Default
size An integer followed by K (kilobytes) or M (megabytes) to indicate the maximum amount of Hiperspace to use before transferring to disk. The valid range for size is 1K to 2047M.

If you do not specify K or M following the size value, Enrichment measures the Hiperspace blocks in kilobytes.

If you set the <HIPERTRANSFER> tag to 0, Enrichment uses no Hiperspace and will switch from memory to disk for <IO> OPTIMUM.
