Inbound message rules

Here are the rules for inbound email and SMS messages.

Email

  • POP3 or IMAP standards are supported.
  • “User@Company.com” style email addresses are supported.
  • Alternatively, set up forwarding rules to an address like “archive@Company.com” and then configure EngageOne Deliver to index and archive these messages too. Refer to Archiving for more details.

SMS

  • Use an HTTP-based callback URL
  • Use an SMPP inbound listener
  • Use the EngageOne Deliver Java API. For more information, see the EngageOne Deliver Reference Guide.
Note: The inbound process associates Delivery Status Notification messages with corresponding outbound message records. It also reports on bounced messages, the reason code, and messages with replies.
