Attachments
Fields/Buttons | Description |
---|---|
File Type | Select the Attachment Type from the list. The default value is None for no attachments. To attach a file type that is not included in the list or use othe advanced attachment features, see the EngageOne Deliver Reference Guide. |
Folder | This field is read-only and is
auto-populated after the Add
button is clicked. This directory path is where attachment content should be
submitted for sending by this Outbound Profile. EngageOne Deliver needs to find a single compound PDF file (many concatenated PDFs in a single file) or an individual PDF file for each message when personalized PDF attachments are processed by batch Outbound Profiles. The single compound PDF is produced by Generate and the main part of the filename needs to match the associated DIJ being processed. The order of the documents in the compound PDF file must match the order of the message descriptions in the DIJ being processed. In the case of individual PDF files the numbering in the individual PDF filenames must match the order of the message descriptions in the DIJ being processed. Note: When your cursor hovers over a Folder cell, a tooltip will appear describing how to name the files that are submitted to EngageOne Deliver for this attachment. |
Charset | Enter the charset used to encode the attachment's content. The default is UTF-8. |
Content | Specify whether the content being attached is Personalized for each message or Static; for example a brochure that might be attached to multiple messages without its content changing. Personalized content means that separate and generally different content would be submitted for each message being processed. In the case of Static content, the files in the specified folder do not need to be submitted for each message but the same files can be attached to multiple messages by simply specifying the name of the file to be attached in the DIJ (XML journal). |
Optional | If an attachment is optional, the Outbound Profile will not raise an exception if it cannot find the content for this attachment. Note that for batch processing of Outbound Profiles, attachments may only be optional if their content is set to Static or the content is submitted as separate (split) files for each message. In other words, attachment content submitted as a compound PDF may not contain 'optional' content and the compound PDF must contain one PDF document for each message represented in the associated DIJ (XML Journal). For real-time Outbound Profiles, either static or personalized content may be set to optional. |
Archive | If you want to archive the attachments, tick this box. Note that for this to be enabled, the Archive box under Message Processing Settings should also be ticked. |
Add | Click Add to
save this attachment's settings. The settings will appear in the table above
but are not actually saved until the Outbound Profile is saved. Note 1: To edit an attachment's settings, click on the Attachment n URL for the attachment that requires editing. The Add button will then change to a Save button. To disable an attachment after it has been created, edit its File Type setting to None. Note 2: If Javascript is disabled in your web browser, the Outbound Profile Settings page will reload each time you click the Add or Save button. |
