Content Manager Template Version Editor

On the Template Version Editor page you specify the resources for each region in a new version of an existing template and choose rules that control when the resources are to be included.

Points to note:
  • Choose resource types that match the resource category for that region.
  • Specify a default resource to use when either no rule is true or when no rule/resource pairs are specified.
  • Select the resource inclusion condition for overall control of rules (only first true or all that are true).
  • Add rule/resource pairs in the order in which the rules are to be applied.

To access the template version editor for a selected template

  1. Display the Template Revisions page for a selected template.

  2. Click a linked version number in the versions table. The Template Version Editor page is displayed.

To create a new version of a template

  1. On the Template Revisions page, click the version number on which you want to base the new version. The Template Version Editor page for the selected version is displayed.

  2. Click on a Region to select it and then do any of the following:
    • Click the square icon with magnifying glass to the right of a region to display a pop up graphic showing region locations.
    • Click the pencil icon inside the Default Resource field to search for and select a default resource to add or replace.
    • Click the drop down selection box for the Resource Inclusion Condition to change its setting.
    • Click the pencil icons within existing Rule/Resource pairs to replace the rule and resource in each.
    • Click the Add Rule/Resource selection box to choose between top or bottom for adding a new rule/resource pair, click the green plus button to add, and then select the pencil icons in each to search for and select the rule and resource.
    • Click the red delete button beside a Rule/Resource pair to remove it.
    • Edit the number in the Sort box to move a Rule/Resource Pair to another position.
  3. Repeat Step 2 for each region.

  4. Click Next. The Template Version Review page is displayed.

  5. For each region, review the rule/resource pairs, ensuring that they are correctly set up and in proper order.
  6. Review the resource Inclusion Condition setting and Default Resource setting (if any).
  7. Click Back to make changes if need.

  8. Click Submit. The Templates Revisions page is displayed with a confirmation message and the status indication of the new version is set to Draft.

Points to note:
  • Your templates are preloaded. You cannot create new templates; you can only create new versions of existing templates.
  • When a resource or rule has been updated since the previous template version was created, an UPDATED indicator displays above the name of the updated resource or rule. To use the updated rule or resource, you must replace it, otherwise the previous version of the rule or resource will be used.
  • To remove a Rule/Resource Pair, click the red delete button beside the pair you want to remove.
  • Rules are examined in the order selected. The order of the Rule/Resource Pairs is important when Inclusion Condition is set to "Only first true."
